Jeff Miller, Congressman from the 1st
District of Florida, will appear at a “Town Hall” (actually a controlled
discussion with media moderators) on Tuesday, August 13th, at 7 AM, at the
Scenic 90 Café, 701 Scenic Hwy, in Pensacola
Ask Jeff Miller Why
a)
24 July 2013 - He
vote against the Amash Amendment to the Patriot Act that would have limited warrantless government
electronic investigations to those people actually under suspicion using
probable cause.
b)
14
June 2013 – He voted for the 2014 NDAA, giving unprecedented powers to a
President he opposes, and continues to insist the NDAA does not allow the
President to arrest and indefinitely detain US citizens without trial. On 17 July 2012 the New York Federal
Appeals Court essentially affirmed the President does have such powers when it
threw out a Federal District court ban on the enforcement of the 2012 NDAA not for its
unconstitutionality, but because the original plaintiff could not show that they
were arrested and indefinitely detained. The District Court did affirm
that the law allowed indefinite arrest and detention and was
unconstitutional. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/18/us/politics/challenges-to-policies-on-terror-are-halted.html
c)
2 July
2013 – LtGen James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence,
admitted and apologized for lying to Congress about the NSA not collecting data
on millions of American citizens. Clappers quote to NBC news...“I responded in
what I thought was the most
truthful, or least untruthful, manner”.
Jeff Miller has
yet to call for Clapper’s prosecution for perjury before Congress. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/07/02/james-clapper-apologizes-for-lying-to-congress-about-nsa-surveillance-clearly-erroneous/
d)
2
Aug 2013 - Deputy US Attorney General James Cole said that the Congress approved
the NSA’s phone-metadata dragnet and were briefed privately on the once-secret
program, but could not tell the public for its secrecy. If Jeff Miller knew, he
kept a secret about a blatantly illegal act. If he didn’t know, why is he being
treated like a second class congressman?

e)
18
April 2013 - He voted for the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act
(CISPA). This Act encourages
private companies (such as email providers) to share their information with
government agencies with complete legal immunity. As said in HR624, page 8, line 24,
“...no criminal cause of action shall be maintained in Federal or State Court...
[for cyber entities providing information.]...”
f)
31
July 2011 – He voted for a $2 trillion national debt ceiling increase which
resulted in rating agency Standard and Poor’s downgrading US debt for the
first
time ever
on
5 Aug 2011.
g)
24 Jan 2013 – He voted to extend
the national debt limit debate for three months, putting off a decision about
deficit spending. .
h)
9 May 2013 – He
voted for the Full Faith and Credit Act (HR807) that puts off a debt ceiling
limit debate once again until the fall of 2013.
i)
9 May 2013 – He voted to price-fix the rate on
government guaranteed student loans at 3.4% thereby advocating central
government economic control policies instead of free market principles. (Bipartisan Student Loan Act of
2013). College costs more
because of government subsidies, not less.
j)
1 Aug 13...Contrary
to the original law, Jeff Miller was exempted from Obamacare. The Office of Personnel Management , under
President Obama’s supervision, has allowed Congress to keep its old health care
system (the government subsidized Federal Employee Health Benefits Program)
instead of being forced to use an Affordable Healthcare Act approved
policy. Congress and their staffs
would have had to use policies that the average American would have to use, pay
more, and get less. Will Jeff Miller accept the new exemption?
